Saucony men

Saucony
Saucony has a long history dating back to 1898, when it was founded by four partners as a shoe factory in Kutztown, a Pennsylvania town along the banks of the Saucony River. The name Saucony, in fact, derives from a word of the natives of America and means “fast flowing river”.
In 1910, in Massachusetts, an immigrant shoemaker from Russia named Abraham Hyde expanded his business to include first walking shoes, women’s and children’s shoes, then sports shoes and ice skates, roller skates, soccer shoes , bowling and baseball.
During World War II, the Hyde firm became a shoe supplier to the US Army and won the esteemed Army & Navy Award for manufacturing excellence.
During the 1960s, the company also produced footwear for the astronauts of the N.A.S.A. and in 1963 the boots worn by the first American astronaut to leave the space shuttle.
In 1968 Hyde absorbs the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of running shoes.
